NTSCRTI: Introduction to Plants and Plant Ecology

The NTSCRTI course strives to foster deeper participation for First Nations people and voices in environmental sciences and services. This program aims to uplift the vital importance of Traditional Ecological Knowledge in land reclamation and restoration and the importance of participation with the people who have not only been land guardians since time immemorial, but continue to inform land use and our relationship with it.

This course is structured to prepare participants to understand the fundamentals of plant identification, plant community ecology, technical field skills, honourable seed harvesting practices, and fieldwork safety and preparation. Successful participants of the program will be prepared to assist in active environmental landwork.
